Notes:
2025 cutoffs are posted by NYC Public Schools.
2024 cutoffs come from widely tracked historical tables; figures are best-available public data.
What changed year-over-year (fast commentary)
Largest drops: HSMSE (−16), HSAS (−10), Bronx Science (−8), QHSS (−6), Stuy (−5).
Ticked up: Staten Island Tech (+8) and Brooklyn Latin (+4).
Near flat: Brooklyn Tech (−2).
These movements track annual shifts in applicant performance and seat fill; they don’t necessarily signal a school getting “easier” or “harder.” Aim high regardless.
How to Use This Page (and What to Expect Next)
Set a target above the latest LQS. Because seats are filled in descending score order, scoring above the most recent cutoff provides a buffer.
Expect fluctuation. Cutoffs move every year; treat them as targets, not guarantees. (Discovery Program offers may also admit some students slightly below the cutoff.)
Heads-up: the SHSAT moves to digital starting with the fall 2025 test window (for 2026 admissions). Prep plans should include on-screen practice.
