Why a structured SHSAT curriculum matters
The SHSAT is the single admissions factor for NYC’s specialized high schools, including Stuyvesant High School, Bronx Science, and Brooklyn Latin School. With only one opportunity to test each year, families and educators need a clear SHSAT curriculum that builds skills systematically in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.

The math section features both multiple-choice and grid-in questions. The DOE specifies content from grades 7-8, including:

Probability/Statistics: Mean, median, mode, range, data interpretation.

An effective SHSAT curriculum must include timed practice tests:

Mid-program practice tests (every 4-5 weeks).
Final mock exams (2-3 weeks before the real SHSAT).
Review sessions should focus on:
Identifying wrong answer patterns (careless vs. conceptual).
Reinforcing time management strategies.
